Installation of single-phase asynchronous motors

Before the motor is installed, the insulation resistance of the stator winding to the casing and the main winding and the auxiliary winding should be measured, and the resistance at room temperature should not be less than 10MΩ. Otherwise, the winding should be dried, and the bulb heating method can be used.

The shaft extension diameter of the motor has been ground to the standard tolerance size when leaving the factory, so it is required that the inner diameter of the pulley or other supporting parts provided by the user should choose the national standard accessories. When installing, just push in by hand or tap lightly on the shaft extension. It is strictly forbidden to hit it with a hammer, otherwise it will easily break the centrifugal switch, which will cause the motor to fail to start, damage the bearing and increase the running noise of the motor.

Before installing the motor to the supporting machinery, it is necessary to carefully check whether the foot part of the motor has cracks and problems such as affecting the mechanical strength. Once any problems are found, installation and use are prohibited. The motor should be installed on a flat plate with fixing holes and fixed with bolts suitable for the foot holes.

In order to ensure safety, before the motor runs, be sure to connect the grounding wire to the grounding screw of the motor and ground it reliably. The grounding wire should be a copper wire with a cross-sectional area of not less than 1m㎡.

Use a time relay instead of a centrifugal switch.

The centrifugal switch used in the single-phase asynchronous motor is a mechanical switch. When the speed of the motor reaches more than 70% of the rated speed, the contact is disconnected to disconnect the auxiliary winding (starting winding) or disconnect the starting capacitor and do not participate in the work. When the centrifugal switch is damaged or the starting capacitor is often burned due to low rural voltage, the time-delay relay (220V type) can be used instead of the centrifugal switch. The method is to connect the two wires on the centrifugal switch inside the motor together, and connect the normally closed contacts of the delay relay in series outside the machine (in order to make the contacts durable, it is necessary to use multiple groups of contacts in parallel or add an intermediate relay) . The power supply of the coil of the time relay can be realized in parallel with the main winding, and the action time is adjusted to 2~6s. After many times of practice, the effect is very good, and the burning of the starting capacitor can also be avoided when the voltage in the countryside is low, and the user is very satisfied.

There are two types of time relays, mechanical and digital, whichever product you choose will do. Most of them use mechanical delay relays, which are easily accepted by users because of their low price.
